BscCSIT, CSC-452: Internship
Bachelor
This report has been prepared as the partial fulfillment requirement for the degree of B.Sc.CSIT course in TU. This report is based on the personal experience gained at National Information Technology Center. During this period I got to know the working scenario in a real environment with professionals. Task like content update and management, research on transactional features and payment gateways, and outreach for the "Business License e-portal" were assigned.
NITC is working as government’s central ISP and also manages Singhadurbar e-gate pass system and optical fiber connection within different ministries and departments inside Singhadurbar area; It also focuses on tele-center establishment as well as basic and advanced IT trainings for government employees.
One of the e-service provided by the NITC is “Nepal Business License e-portal” which has been launched to facilitate effective operation and better access to licensing information. It is a single platform which provides information on the licenses required for starting and operating business, the legal procedure and steps, time and costs for each individual license.
However, this license portal process one way only i.e. only the information can be accessed. But people can have more benefits if the portal is made transactional. Likewise, we can still find digital divided group in Nepal who not only have internet facility but also are not IT literate. Poor bandwidth, Digital divide, Political turnovers are the major factors that could effect in the better use of this portal.
Thus the factors like dedicated hosting and bandwidth, responsibility of updating licenses and ::r.:ents as required, streamlining of the license content with individual, ownership and accountability of the license content are required for the efficient running of the e-portal.
