Abstract

Information Technology is touching every aspect of society. Information Technology is used today for communication, education, health, entertainment, security, business etc. Another area that has seen a rise in use of information technology is social work. The focus of this internship project is on the development of a web application that allows users to contribute to charity by shopping online.
Ir/.emships provide real world experience to those looking to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to enter into a particular career field. Internships are relatively short term in nature with the primary focus on getting sc me on the job training and taking what’s learned in the classroom and applying to the real world.
As a means to increase use of information technology for social work, the project includes the development of the website “ez2help.com”. The website allows users and non-profit organizations to register online. E-commerce sites can also be -dded to ez2help.com. Then every time a user shops online from one or more of me listed e-commerce sites, a certain portion of the purchase cost will be donated to his or her preferred charity organization without having to pay extra. The project aims to utilize the rapid increase in online shopping for a social cause.
