Environment pollution is a worldwide problem and its influence on the health of human populations is menacing. Industrial growth and rapid urbanization aggravate the problem, with the pressure felt most acutely in Kathmandu city. Technological innovation in computing, telecommunications, and information technologies has important ramifications in the design of sustainable environment.
The project, “Green Recreation: e-Ticketing and Barcode Enable Garbage Monitoring System for Park Management” is designed aiming the parks consisting of entry ticketing standard. It provides people with the Information Communication Technologies (ICT) tool-“the system developed” assisting them with web portal to gain the benefits of booking tickets from anywhere avoiding the unstructured queues. The barcode technique is used to facilitate the effective management of generating stickers and eliminating costs associated with its removal.
ICTs help tackling the environmental challenges through sustainable models. Information is held within the system, and is indicated as electronic tickets when user check in. Barcode technologies fulfil the need to accurately identify or track something, dramatically improving user productivity and data integrity. The project delivers an efficient way to book tickets for the visitors, with barcode enabled garbage disposal system leading to clean park environment.
