Abstract

Nepal is an agricultural country. More than one third of the total national economy
depends on agriculture. Government conducts many agricultural related programs
in different parts of country to increase the agricultural outputs. The program are
not carried out effectively due to lack of digitized statistics and e-reports about
agricultural attributes in those places. Lack of significant data, planning to
organize those agricultural related programs in different parts of the country are
ineffective. They use traditional hard copy reports which are inefficient and time
consuming. This problem prevails due to lack of inclusion of ICT in the statistical
archive system in Nepal.
This project targets the above problems by implementation of ICT in the statistical
archive system. AIMS is a web enabled archive system which provides all the
significant information to the program planners. This project is targeted to provide
technical support at district level for effective organization of agricultural related
programs which benefits the farmers in rural areas.
This project focuses on digitized agricultural statistical data and e-reports which is
a step forward to remove the traditional archive system. Lot of time and money
can be saved. Hence, this project provides platform for supporting and improving
the sustainable agriculture in Nepal.
