Tuberculosis is, currently, a very critical disease which infects about 50000 people every year in Nepal. The current scenario in GermanNepal Tuberculosis Project is that the patient information bank has become incredibly large so it has become hard to handle all that information. The organization works on paper documents which are viable to small disasters that might have adverse effect on the organization's performance and also on the patient's information. And it also takes time for movement of paper documents from one desk to another. The time might not be a factor but this is done for every document which when taken into consideration wastes a lot of time. Generation of the patient information, reports, monthly report and yearly charts representation takes definite number of statistical knowledge which is not possessed by every member in the organization.
The project entitled Genetup: An eHealth portal for Analytical Representation of Statistical Tuberculosis Records is one of the approach to solve the above problem. It is a web application that allows a platform for the organization to work with digitized data effectively. It provides services to various employee levels in the organization, namely, reception, opd clinic and laboratory. This application is a private application which is deployed under the strict supervision of the organization to monitor its work flow and performance only. Public web hosting and access is not a part of this application.
The project deals with digitized records which condense the problems related with damage of valuable information. And provides a prompt platform which results in easy and efficient information storing and sharing. Doctors, lab technicians and receptionists can benefit from this project and the patient in also benefited because of easy and faster report generating techniques.
