Real time monitoring of river water level is a genuine case of study. Determining the water level in real time could lead to a possible number of benefits which include early detection of floods, viable water ecosystem changes and hydroelectricity generation productivity.
“Gahirai: Real Time System for Water Level Monitoring” is an embedded approach which aims on monitoring the water level rivers in real time. Generally, the water level in rivers keep on changing; so, this project aims on developing a real time system to calculate and record such variations. The proposed project explores tools and techniques to develop a cheap automated system. It makes use of different sensors to calculate the correct data. The details collected from the device will be forwarded to a database and according to current and previous data we can produce the results in a graphical manner in the system. Likewise from such data we also aim to implement flood detection algorithms.
Thus the proposed system aims on determining water level of river in real time integrating various algorithms. The purpose of this project is to design and implement the River Water Level and Flood Monitoring System, an approach to a better Monitoring System.
