Abstract

Nepal is an agricultural country. More than half of the country’s population is dependent on agriculture and livestock farming for their livelihood. Agriculture and livestock are the major aspect in uplifting the economic status of the country’s population.

Livestock accounts for about 32% of gross agricultural output. Different animal like Cow, Buffalo, Goat, Sheep, Pig, etc. are raised by the farmers for different reasons. Various problem regarding the disease exist in livestock farming in Nepal. There is a huge loss of livestock in Nepal due to various disease.

The project entitled Mobile Vet: ICT in Veterinary Medicine tends to study the condition of livestock farming in Nepal find the problems and provide an ICT based solution to the problem. The project provide an e-agriculture framework for disseminating animal disease related information to farmers.

The project deals with the scope and use of ICT in Veterinary Medicine in case of livestock farming. It also provides information regarding how the developed countries as well as developing countries are using the ICTs tool to improve their livestock farming.
