Abstract

The considerable increase of mobile device users in recent years causes a strong
demand on secured wireless bank services and reliable mobile commerce (mcommerce)
applications. Since mobile payment (m-payment) & banking is a critical
part of most wireless information services and mobile commerce applications, how to
build secured m-payment systems becomes a research hotspot.
In today’s age of new opportunities and emerging technologies, there is a new
communications infrastructure to transform the way business is done. Using simple
and cheaper hardware such as mobiles and handheld devices we can communicate &
also we can do business transactions. It provides much better mobility than PCs.
Technology is moving towards mobiles which has wide spread usage and
acceptability. Lot of protocols and software’s has been developed. We are connecting
the mobile to bank database using WML (Wireless Markup Language) scripts and
java technology.
This opportunity is mobile commerce, and it will drive new levels of intense
competition in the finance industry. Mobile commerce achieves this by removing the
traditional restrictions of geographical location and high entry costs. This time the
result on the finance industry will be led by a new weapon i.e., the mobile phone. The
Project involves providing a wide range of mobile banking for individual clients,
including balance checking, amount transfer, stop payment, request check book, mini
statement, etc.
M-Commerce is also about new usage scenarios and technologies that overcome the
limitation of mobile devices to support users in the context of the broad range of time
critical activities. It is also acts as a flexible terminal for a huge range of applications.
The new age has added more value at time so that people want to use the system or
perform their jobs while on the move, on their way to a meeting , in a crowded places
etc. the project “mobile application on banking “ has tried to meet the requirement by
making the useful application of mobile on banking sector giving rise to the concept
of “Banking anywhere and anytime”.
