Pasupalan: Android Based Cattle Information Management System - Final Year Project Report (CSC-404) 

Abstract

Nepal is an agricultural country. The economy is dominated by agriculture here. Like
farming, Livestock, adapted to many uses, forms an essential part of the economy.
Livestock accounts for about 30% of gross agricultural output. Different animal like
cow, buffalo, goat, sheep, yak, etc. are raised by the farmers for different reasons. In
Nepal, we don’t have a systematic way of recording the details information of the
animal. Also we can record the daily sales of the items produced from the animals.
Medical information of the animals are not systematically recorded. So, considering
these problems this project brought easy medium to keep record about all information
about the animals.
The project entitled Pasupalan - Android Based Cattle Information Management
System is android mobile application that is used to keep the records of the animal the
farmers own. It helps to add the; animal information in the database. This application
includes a lot of record keeping, data entry work.A lack of proper managed system
can result into a farmers' huge loss. Therefore, a proper managed system is very
necessary for an animal farmer so that he can keep all the records and analyze them.
Many farmers lose their animals because of various diseases. Due to the lack of any
health related knowledge, a farmer may lose his animal. This becomes another
problem for the farmer. This project helps farmer to keep medical record of the
animals. We can also know the disease name and its preventive measures, cures and
medicines are suggested accordingly when the symptoms are given by the farmers.
If the symptoms entered by the farmer are not enough for the application to diagnose
the disease, it automatically gives the veterinarian information to the farmer. The
veterinarian information includes the name of the doctor with its contact information.
Farmers can also keep records of the sales of their product and animal. This
application allows the farmers to store their daily expenses and even show the amount
of profit and loss at the end of the month. This application stores the sales record of
milk and animal.
