Abstract

The android application “Equal Access Nepal” is designed as an online podcast for
various social issues oriented radio program s created by Equal A ccess Nepal. Nepal is a
developing country but developm ent will be uneven until and unless people from all
corners have access to the vital information essential to bring necessary changes in their
lives. Equal A ccess Nepal creates and dissem inates radio shows that em pow er user with
critically needed inform ation for social change on a wide range o f issues. The main
purpose o f this project is to create a m obile platform to provide easier access to already
air episodes o f various radio shows created by Equal Access Nepal. The course o f project
consisted o f detailed research in the status o f sim ilar applications in Nepal.
To make the application easier to use and access the radio program through, “Equal
Access N epal” allows users to access radio shows that have already been aired, category-
wise and episode-wise using the Internet. The application developed gives the user the
option to play previously aired programs using internet, to download previously aired
programs, to play already downloaded radio show episodes and to stream Equal Access
Nepal Radio Shows when being aired live. This project attempts to critically understand
all the objectives and implement various programming tools to develop the desired
application.
